**Justin Timberlake Arrested and Charged with DWI in the Hamptons**

Singer Justin Timberlake has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons, a law enforcement official told ABC News.

According to Sag Harbor Village police, Timberlake ran a stop sign and swerved into an oncoming traffic lane at 12:37 a.m. on Tuesday. The pop star was driving a 2025 grey BMW UT on Madison Street when he failed to stop and maintain his lane. Upon being pulled over, officers determined that Timberlake "was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition." The criminal complaint noted that he had bloodshot, glassy eyes, a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, slowed speech, unsteady movements, and performed poorly on a field sobriety test.

Despite claiming he had only one drink, Timberlake, 43, was taken into custody and held overnight for arraignment. He was released Tuesday morning on his own recognizance and has been ordered to appear virtually in Sag Harbor Village Court on July 26.

This incident comes as Timberlake is in the midst of his "The Forget Tomorrow World Tour," promoting his sixth studio album, "Everything I Thought It Was." He has two upcoming concerts in Chicago this weekend and two shows in New York City next week.

Timberlake first rose to fame as a member of the boy band *NSYNC in the late '90s and early 2000s before launching a successful solo career in 2002. His debut album "Justified" sold millions of copies and produced hit singles like "Cry Me A River" and "Rock Your Body." Over his career, Timberlake has won 10 Grammys, four Emmys, and numerous Billboard Music and MTV Video Music Awards. He was also nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe for his hit song "Can't Stop the Feeling!" from the movie "Trolls."

Last year, Timberlake reunited with his *NSYNC bandmates to contribute to the "Trolls Band Together" soundtrack and performed with them in March. Additionally, he has starred in several notable films, including "The Social Network," "Bad Teacher," and "Friends With Benefits."
