Actor and Los Angeles native Danny Trejo found himself in the middle of a fight during an Independence Day Parade in L.A.'s Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood. The incident, which was caught on video, has been widely shared on social media.

Witnesses reported that Trejo was riding in a vintage convertible when someone in the crowd threw a water balloon at him. The balloon hit the vehicle and exploded, prompting Trejo to get out of the car. Surrounded by children and parents, Trejo approached the sidewalk and threw a left hook at a man. The man countered, knocking Trejo to the ground.

A scuffle ensued involving several other people, some of whom restrained Trejo. By the time law enforcement arrived, the crowd had dispersed, and no arrests were made, according to TMZ.

Trejo, known for his roles as gangsters and tough guys in films like the “Machete” franchise, “From Dusk Till Dawn,” and “Once Upon a Time in Mexico,” later spoke with TMZ. He described the incident as "childish" and called those who threw the water balloon "cowards."

Beyond his acting career, Trejo has ventured into various business endeavors, including opening restaurants, donut shops, and coffee shops. He also published a memoir in 2021.

KTLA has reached out to Trejo’s management for comment but has not received a response.
