Oklahoma State's standout running back, Ollie Gordon II, was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, as confirmed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to ESPN.

The incident occurred in the Oklahoma City area when troopers observed Gordon's vehicle swerving into an adjacent lane twice and speeding 17 miles per hour over the 65 mph limit, according to the probable cause affidavit.

During the stop, a trooper detected the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Gordon admitted to having open bottles of vodka and tequila, which were found half empty according to the affidavit. Initially, Gordon refused to take a sobriety test. He was subsequently arrested on charges of DUI, transporting an open container of alcohol, failing to maintain a single lane, and speeding. At the Cleveland County Jail, Gordon's blood alcohol levels registered at 0.11 and 0.10.

In Oklahoma, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08%.

Gordon, who won the Doak Walker Award last season as the nation's top running back, led the country with 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.

A spokesperson for Oklahoma State stated that the school is "aware" of the incident.
