Free agent forward Tobias Harris has agreed to a two-year, $52 million contract with the Detroit Pistons, according to sources who spoke with ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Monday.
Harris, who will turn 32 on July 15, has been with the Philadelphia 76ers since the trade deadline in 2019, arriving in a deal from the LA Clippers. This marked the fourth time he had been traded midseason since entering the league as the 19th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. Despite the frequent moves early in his career, Harris settled in with the 76ers, signing a five-year, $180 million extension that he completed this season, making him an unrestricted free agent.
In the past season with Philadelphia, Harris averaged 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, while shooting 48.7% overall and 35.3% from three-point range. His durability and reliability were evident, as he played in at least 70 games in four of the last five years.
Harris is one of only 15 players to accumulate at least 6,000 points, 2,000 rebounds, and 1,000 assists over the past five seasons, a testament to his consistency and availability.
